Khulna: A discussion meeting and doa mahfil took place at the Khulna Press Club (KPC) this morning to pray for the eternal peace of former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event commenced with participants observing a one-minute silence in honor of Begum Khaleda Zia. A special doa mahfil followed the discussion, where prayers were also offered for the well-being of Tarique Rahman, son of late President Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia.
The event was held at the Humayun Kabir Balu Auditorium of the Khulna Press Club, presided over by Club Convener Enamul Haque. Member Secretary Rafiul Islam Tutul and Executive Member Ahmad Musa Ranju conducted the meeting. Speakers at the discussion highlighted Begum Khaleda Zia’s role as a symbol of uncompromising leadership in Bangladesh’s political history, emphasizing her political wisdom, sacrifice, and courage.
The speakers described her as a humane and national leader and recognized her as a key architect of Bangladesh’s democratic governance. Executive Members of the club and various journalists, including Md Mizanur Rahman Milton, Kaushik Dey, Ashraful Islam Noor, and others, also spoke on the occasion.
