Dhaka:Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has clarified that it has no plans to permanently remove the nameplates of July martyrs from the Mirpur-10 roundabout. Instead, the DNCC intends to reinstall them in a more visually appealing manner following ongoing renovation work.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DNCC has urged the public not to believe misleading information and rumors regarding the nameplates. The confusion began after the inauguration of the 'July Graffiti Remake' activity, organized by the corporation at Mirpur-10, which led to speculation on social media about the removal of the nameplates.

The police box at the Mirpur-10 roundabout was damaged during an incident related to an eviction drive against illegal structures. Consequently, the DNCC decided to renovate the police box and improve the area's overall appearance. The nameplates were temporarily removed to facilitate this renovation.

DNCC Administrator Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton instructed that the nameplates will be redesigned and reinstalled in a more attractive manner. The redesigned nameplates aim to honor the contributions of the July martyrs and fighters, making them more visible to pedestrians and the public.

The DNCC emphasized the importance of respecting the July martyrs, ensuring their contributions are remembered with dignity. Upon completion of the renovation, the nameplates will be presented in a new aesthetic form. DNCC authorities continue to encourage the public to seek accurate information rather than being swayed by rumors.

The project integrates development, beautification, and respect for the memory of the July martyrs and fighters, enhancing the Mirpur-10 roundabout's aesthetic appeal.
