Dhaka:Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan stated today that there is no room for political identity in the corporation's tender process. All tender activities are conducted through the Electronic Government Procurement (e-GP) system, adhering strictly to government rules and regulations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Khan made these remarks at the inauguration of the "Urban Garden" project, organized by the social development organization Footsteps under the Mogbazar Flyover in the capital. The event highlighted the transparent tender process facilitated by the e-GP system, ensuring fair issuance of work orders, as referenced in a recent media report.
Additionally, Khan urged all stakeholders to maintain responsible journalism and uphold integrity. He acknowledged the collaborative efforts between DNCC and Footsteps aimed at transforming Dhaka into a modern, green, and livable city.
He commended Footsteps for its significant contributions to environmental development and urban modernization, including initiatives such as tree planting, canal excavation, and waste management. The development of an urban garden at a previously abandoned site under the Mogbazar Flyover stands as a testament to these joint efforts.
