Dhaka: Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Shafiqul Islam Khan today emphasized the corporation’s dedication to ensuring all civic services, asserting that these efforts must proceed unimpeded. “The primary commitment of DNCC is to make the city livable,” Khan declared during the inauguration of the excavation and cleaning activities of Tolarbagh canal in Mirpur, which extends from Mirpur Mazar Road to Gabtoli Main Road, this afternoon.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DNCC Administrator highlighted the importance of utilizing public funds, collected through taxes, effectively and ensuring they are allocated to necessary sectors. He stressed the need for all projects to be completed within their designated timelines. Addressing the issue of mosquito control, Khan underlined the significance of maintaining clean canals, as mosquitoes tend to breed in stagnant and polluted waters, and urged residents to refrain from dumping waste into these waterways.

The event was attended by DNCC Chief Engineer Brigadier General Syed Rakibul Hasan, Regional Executive Officer of Zone-4 Jalal Uddin, and other relevant officials, demonstrating the administration’s collaborative efforts to uphold civic responsibilities and improve city living conditions.
