Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) today issued a traffic guideline ahead of the day-long cultural program and drone show to be held at Manik Mia Avenue marking the “July Mass Uprising Day” tomorrow to ensure better traffic management. The DMP in a statement today requested all to avoid the roads near the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban area and Manik Mia Avenue and to follow the diversions at the following points and take alternative routes.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP has sought the full cooperation of all city dwellers in this connection. The statement, signed by Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali, outlines specific diversion points and alternative roads to ease the anticipated traffic congestion.

At the Aarong Crossing, vehicles coming from the North via Mirpur Road or from Mohammadpur via Asadgate towards Khejur Bagan/Farmgate must proceed straight southwards via the eastern end of Dhanmondi-27 to Mirpur Road, avoiding a left turn. Similarly, vehicles from the South of Mirpur Road will need to continue northwards and will turn at Ganabhaban Crossing to follow Lake Road-Urojahaj Crossing-Bijay Sarani Crossing.

For those traveling via Khejur Bagan Crossing, vehicles coming from the elevated expressway via Indira Road to Dhanmondi must turn right at Urojahaj Crossing and follow the designated route. Additionally, to avoid congestion, vehicles are advised to use the FDC (Hatirjheel) ramp instead of the Farmgate exit ramp.

At Farmgate Crossing, vehicles heading towards Khejur Bagan or Mirpur should go straight to Bijoy Sarani and follow the designated left turn at Urojahaj Crossing. Further adjustments are outlined for routes near Ganabhaban Crossing and Asadgate Crossing to facilitate smoother traffic flow.

Vehicles moving via Manik Mia Avenue are requested to use Syed Mahbub Morshed Road from Agargaon to Shishu Mela. For parking, visitors attending the event tomorrow are advised to park their vehicles at the Agargaon Old Trade Fair Grounds.
