DMP Imposes Ban on Flying Lanterns for 13 Hours Starting Tonight

Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has announced a ban on the flying of all kinds of lanterns across the Dhaka Metropolitan areas for a period of thirteen hours, starting from 11 pm tonight until 12 am tomorrow.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali issued the order by using the authority granted under Section 28 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. III/76). The decision aims to ensure safety and order within the city limits during the specified hours.



The DMP has urged residents of Dhaka to adhere to the new directive and refrain from flying lanterns during the restricted period. The police department emphasizes the importance of public cooperation in maintaining peace and safety in the metropolitan area.
