Dhaka: As part of the ongoing campaign, Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 1,665 cases against vehicles, owners, and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Muhammad Talebur Rahman stated that these cases were filed, and fines were collected on Sunday (November 23) through regular drives targeting traffic rule violators. The DMP traffic police also took action by dumping 379 motor vehicles and towing 95 vehicles during the campaign.
The press release indicated that several teams from the DMP traffic division are actively working to streamline the traffic system in the capital, aiming to facilitate smoother movement for city dwellers. The ongoing campaign against traffic rule violators is set to continue in order to maintain discipline on Dhaka's streets.
The report detailed the distribution of cases filed by different traffic divisions: Motijheel traffic division filed 345 cases, Wari division registered 150 cases, Tejgaon division filed 266 cases, Mirpur division filed 135 cases, Gulshan division filed 231 cases, Uttara division registered 271 cases, Ramna division filed 122 cases, and Lalbagh division registered 145 cases against motor vehicles, including three-wheelers and motorcycles.
