DMP Files 1,436 Cases Against Traffic Rule Violations in Dhaka

Dhaka: The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has filed 1,436 cases against motor vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules in a single day across the capital. A media release of the DMP stated that these cases were filed and fines were collected on Monday, December 29, during their regular operations targeting traffic rule violators.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a total of 310 motor vehicles were impounded and 144 were damaged due to poor driving practices, as reported by Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of the Media and Public Relations Division of the DMP. The breakdown of cases filed by various traffic divisions includes 215 by Motijheel, 126 by Wari, 212 by Tejgaon, 175 by Mirpur, 311 by Gulshan, 200 by Uttara, 86 by Ramna, and 117 by Lalbagh. These cases targeted motor vehicles, three-wheelers, and motorcycles.



The media release emphasized, “The drives will continue to ensure discipline on the city streets,” underlining the DMP’s commitment to streamlining the traffic system in the capital for the convenience of city dwellers.
