Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a statement urging everyone not to obstruct traffic by blocking roads in pursuit of their demands, highlighting the significant inconvenience this causes to the public.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DMP emphasized the need for proper traffic management and the importance of considering the well-being of city residents. The statement noted that various groups, including some with particular interests, have been blocking roads in Dhaka under the guise of protests to further their demands.
The statement further explained that such actions lead to severe traffic congestion in the metropolis. Consequently, students, office workers, and passengers traveling abroad, as well as patients requiring urgent medical attention, face considerable problems. The DMP’s Traffic Division is actively working to alleviate traffic congestion, but road blockades continue to cause widespread public difficulties.
In light of these challenges, the DMP reiterated its call for all concerned parties to refrain from unnecessary road blockades to facilitate better traffic management across the city.
