Dhaka: Home Minister and BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed today announced that a discrimination-free Bangladesh will be constructed following the vision of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. ‘A discrimination-free Bangladesh will be built as envisioned by former Prime Minister and ‘Deshnetri’ Begum Khaleda Zia for overall development of the country,’ Ahmed stated during a discussion on a condolence motion in the first session of the 13th National Parliament.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salahuddin Ahmed paid tribute to Begum Khaleda Zia and several other prominent political and social figures who had recently passed away. Reflecting on her political legacy, he emphasized Khaleda Zia’s pivotal role in reinstating democratic values in the country and highlighted her leadership during critical periods in the nation’s political history.
Ahmed further acknowledged Khaleda Zia’s significant leadership during the July Mass Uprising in 2024. He also commemorated the vital contributions of the Liberation War of 1971 and the July Mass Uprising of 2024, pledging to build a Bangladesh that fulfills the aspirations of those pivotal movements.
The condolence motion in parliament recognized the contributions of the deceased leaders, acknowledging their influence in shaping the nation’s political and social landscape.
