Speakers at a dialogue on "International Crimes Tribunal Model under State Law-its struggle, achievement and future in Bangladesh" today called upon all to take it advance together.
They also emphasized on taking effective and speedy measures in this regard by making national level planning. The International Crimes Strategy Forum (ICSF) arranged the dialogue at city's CIRDAP auditorium here.
Moderated by former chairman of National Human Rights Commission Dr Mizanur Rahman, Barrister Shah Ali Farhad gave the keynote speech.
It was addressed, among others, by Senior Prosecutors of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Jead Al Mamun, Rana Dasgupta, Sultan Mahmud Simon and Taposh Kanti Baul. Trustee of Mukti Judhha Jadughar Mofidul Haque, family members of martyred intellectuals, journalists and anti-war crimes online activists also spoke.
The speakers urged all to be devoted more in conducting research on war crime issues and its trial, enacting new laws for the protection of prosecution witnesses and increase the number of tribunals for speedy completion of war crimes traial.
Hundreds of people from 22 countries were directly connected with the dialogue through video conferencing.
