Dhaka Wanderers Secure Third Victory in Bangladesh Premier League

Mymensingh: Midfielder Nazmul Islam Rasel scored twice as Dhaka Wanderers Club registered their third win in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League, defeating Chittagong Abahani Limited by 2-1 at the Mymensingh district Stadium today.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, in addition to Rasel’s two goals, midfielder Fazley Rabbi scored the lone goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited. The match saw Dhaka Wanderers leading 2-1 at the end of the first half. Rasel opened the scoring in the 37th minute and extended the lead with his second goal in the 45+1st minute. Rabbi’s goal for Chittagong Abahani came in the 45+4th minute, reducing the deficit.



With this victory, Dhaka Wanderers, striving to avoid relegation, increased their points tally to 10 from 14 matches. Meanwhile, Chittagong Abahani Limited remains at the bottom of the league table with three points from the same number of games. In their previous encounter, Dhaka Wanderers secured a narrow win with a solitary goal against Chittagong Abahani at Shaheed Barkat Stadium in Gazipur.



Looking ahead, on Saturday, Abahani Limited, Dhaka will face Bangladesh Police Football Club at Mymensingh district Stadium, while Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will compete against Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club at Birshreshtha Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
