Dhaka: The Dhaka Board authorities have issued a show-cause notice to a teacher from Gopalganj district concerning allegations of irregularities in evaluating SSC examination answer scripts. The notice, signed by the board's Controller of Examinations, Prof. Jesmin Taslima Banu, was confirmed by board officials today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, a video clip and still images recently circulated on social media, showing students evaluating answer scripts of the SSC English Second Paper examination (Subject Code-108). The notice mentioned that preliminary investigations found evidence supporting these allegations.
The statement further clarified that allowing anyone other than the chief examiner or assigned examiner, including students or family members, to evaluate or fill in examination answer scripts is a punishable offense. Board officials stated that such actions have tarnished the board's image and created concerns among the examinees.
In response to the incident, Md. Saiful Islam, an assistant teacher at Aikdia Achhia High School in Muksudpur Upazila of Gopalganj district, has been asked to explain why departmental disciplinary action should not be taken against him. He has been instructed to submit a written explanation within the stipulated time.
Copies of the notice have been sent to the Ministry of Education, the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, the Deputy Commissioner of Gopalganj, and other relevant offices.
