Dhaka: Police in an overnight drive arrested Desh TV Managing Director (MD) Arif Hasan from the city's Airport area in an attempted murder case. Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner of media and public relations of Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), confirmed the arrest, stating that Arif was taken to the DB office at Minto Road. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the attempted murder case against Arif was filed with Airport Police Station. The charges stem from an alleged attack on the recent student-people movement on July 19.
