Dhaka: Six people have succumbed to dengue, and 1,561 individuals have been admitted to hospitals with dengue infections in the last 24 hours, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest figures reveal that of the newly hospitalised dengue patients, 627 are receiving treatment in Dhaka Division, 93 in Mymensingh Division, 181 in Chattogram Division, 275 in Khulna Division, 202 in Barishal Division, 104 in Rajshahi Division, 73 in Rangpur Division, and six in Sylhet Division. These numbers contribute to a total of 51,837 dengue-related hospitalisations across the country this year. The recent deaths have increased the dengue-related death toll to 149 for the current year.
The report also highlights that 1,394 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals within the last 24 hours. Overall, 48,093 individuals have recuperated from dengue and returned home after receiving treatment this year. In comparison, last year saw a total of 102,861 dengue infections and 413 fatalities due to the disease.
