Dhaka: Seven more people succumbed to dengue, and 1,753 new patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide in the 24 hours leading up to 8 am on Wednesday. This development has raised the total dengue-related deaths in the country to 171 this year, as reported by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to United News of Bangladesh, the recent fatalities include three deaths in the Khulna division, with one death each reported in the Chattogram, Mymensingh, Rajshahi, and Rangpur divisions. At present, there are 4,166 dengue patients receiving treatment in various hospitals throughout the country.
Since the beginning of the year on January 1, hospitals have recorded a total of 56,916 dengue admissions. Out of these, 52,579 patients have successfully recovered from the illness, indicating an ongoing struggle to manage the outbreak effectively.
