Dhaka: Health officials today said they recorded 573 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least two persons in the past 24 hours.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported that out of the 573 new cases, 104 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 83 in Chattogram division, and 143 in Dhaka division excluding the capital. In the capital, 80 cases were reported in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 73 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas. Additionally, 31 cases were recorded in Khulna division, 14 in Mymensingh division, 44 in Rajshahi division, and one in Sylhet division.
The ongoing dengue outbreak in Bangladesh has resulted in 137 deaths since its onset this year, with a total of 34,984 cases reported. In comparison, last year’s dengue outbreak claimed 575 lives and affected 101,214 people across the country.
