Deal Signed with WFP for Technical Assistance

Dhaka: A Project document has been signed today between the Government of Bangladesh and the World Food Programme (WFP) for technical assistance. Under the agreement, Bangladesh will receive US$ 645,714 from WFP for the ‘Strengthening Shock Responsive and Nutrition Sensitive Social Projection Programme (SSRNSSPP) out of a total cost of US$ 688,979, an ERD press release.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the main objectives of the technical assistance project include policy advocacy, enhanced sectoral coordination, capacity building, and generation of evidence-based knowledge. The core objective of the 3-year project, which began on 1 January 2026, is to provide technical support to the National Social Security Strategy and its related development goals in Bangladesh, the release said.



ERD Secretary Shahriar Kader Siddiky and Acting Country Director of WFP Simone Parchment signed the document on their respective sides.
