Dhaka: The Department of Social Services (DSS) has extended the deadline for online applications for disability allowance and education stipends under the social safety net programme for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, applications for the allowance and stipends can now be submitted online until further notice, as per a notification signed by Director of the Social Security Sub-Division of the Department of Social Services, Md Mosharraf Hossain, on Monday. The decision to extend the deadline comes as the target number of applications had not been received even after the initial application period had concluded.
Initially, the online application period for the disability allowance and education stipends was set from August 16 to August 31 this year. However, with the revised decision, the department has opted to keep the application process open until further notice, rather than setting a new deadline.
Interested applicants are required to apply through the online platform designated by the Department of Social Services. The online application address is https://dss.bhata.gov.bd/online-application. The department has clarified that the previous instructions regarding the application process, eligibility, and other conditions will remain unchanged.
The Department of Social Services emphasized that the primary aim of the initiative is to ensure that genuine and eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits of the social safety net programme. The notification also instructed social services officials at the divisional, district, and upazila levels to take necessary measures to facilitate the receipt of applications following the announcement.
