Dhaka: A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed today between the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) at the DSE tower. DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed and DSE Chairman Mominul Islam signed the document on behalf of their respective organizations.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the cooperation agreement outlines that DCCI and DSE will engage in joint research, seminars, symposiums, and policy dialogues aimed at promoting market transparency, capacity building, and investor confidence. This partnership is also expected to explore simplified criteria and awareness initiatives to facilitate greater SME participation in the capital market, as stated in a press release.

DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed remarked that the MoU represents a shared vision to strengthen Bangladesh's economic foundation through cooperation, knowledge exchange, and innovation. He emphasized that the collaboration will bridge the capital market and the private sector, empowering businesses, especially SMEs, to access finance, grow sustainably, and contribute more effectively to national development.

DSE Chairman Mominul Islam commented that the agreement will enable DSE and DCCI to foster innovation, promote research, and advocate for policies conducive to capital market development. He highlighted that SMEs often lack understanding of the enlistment process in the capital market, but through this joint collaboration, SME entrepreneurs will become more informed about the available opportunities through seminars, workshops, and other events. Mominul expressed confidence that the mutual cooperation, trust, and concerted efforts of both DSE and DCCI will yield significant benefits.

The signing ceremony was attended by DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury, COO and Managing Director (Acting) of DSE Mohammad Asadur Rahman, as well as members of the DCCI and DSE board of directors, among others.
