Chattogram:A Chattogram court has granted a seven-day remand for Mobarak Hossain Emon, also known as "David Emon," a notorious criminal in the city, in connection with two significant murder cases.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the remand includes five days for a double-murder case under Bakalia Police Station and two days for the murder of Sarwar Babla, a case under Bayezid Bostami Police Station. The orders were issued separately by Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrates S M Alauddin Mahmud and Md. Alamgir Hossain.

Mohammad Hasan Iqbal Chowdhury, deputy commissioner (Prosecution) of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), informed that Emon was presented before the court on Wednesday afternoon for the remand hearing. Emon was brought to the courthouse from prison around 1230 pm under heavy security for the proceedings.

The double-murder case is related to an incident on March 30, 2025, when a private car was shot in the Bakalia area, resulting in the deaths of two individuals. Emon has been identified as the primary coordinator and is one of the accused in this case.
