Chattogram: City Mayor Dr. Shahadat Hossain has highly praised the role of Chattogram Medical College (CMC) in expanding medical education and healthcare facilities in the Chattogram region. He was speaking as the chief guest at a function on the Founding Day of the CMC today. The Mayor also joined a rally arranged marking the occasion.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, CMC Principal Prof. Dr. Jasim Uddin, former BMA Chattogram General Secretary Dr. Khurshid Jamil Chowdhury, CMCH Director Brig. Gen. Taslim Uddin, physicians, alumni, and students attended the function. Dr. Shahadat Hossain emphasized that Chattogram Medical College is not just an educational institution but also a primary health service providing entity in Chattogram.
Since its inception, CMC has produced many world-class physicians dedicated to medical and humanitarian services. Chattogram Medical College Day is celebrated annually on September 20, marking the official launch of its academic activities in 1957.
