Cox’s bazar: State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque has announced the government’s plan to transform Cox’s Bazar into a modern sports hub to boost its tourism potential. During a visit to the proposed cricket stadium, the State Minister highlighted the government’s master plan to leverage the natural beauty of the city for international-standard sports tourism.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the State Minister commented on the stadium’s current fragile state, noting that while the condition of the field is passable, it lacks essential facilities for players and tourists. He emphasized that the progress of the stadium project has not met expectations in the past and expressed the current government’s intention to restart the development work.

Aminul Haque also revealed plans for a comprehensive sports complex or village, accommodating various sports, including football and indoor games. He assured that technical and administrative challenges would be addressed promptly to advance the project.

The State Minister expressed optimism that with effective planning, Cox’s Bazar could become one of the world’s premier sports tourism destinations.
