Dhaka:A court has accepted the charge-sheet filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against former law minister Anisul Huq and three others in a graft case. The accused include Anisul's sister-in-law Jebunnesa Begum Haque Koli, nephew Iftekharul Islam, and cousin Mohammad Iqbal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Shahjahan Kabir issued the order, forwarding the matter for further proceedings. This development was confirmed by ACC public prosecutor Mir Ahmed Salam.
The case was initially filed by ACC Deputy Director Md Jahangir Alam against the four individuals on January 1, 2025. After completing the investigation, the charge-sheet was submitted to the court on September 24. The accused face charges under various sections of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, Penal Code, Prevention of Corruption Act, and Money Laundering Prevention Act.
