A man and his wife were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between two motorcycles on the Naogaon-Bogura highway in Shahapur area under Sadar upazila of the district today. The deceased were identified as Anamul Haque, 40, resident of Raikali village under Akkelpur upazila of Joypurhat district and his wife Bristi Akhtar, 32. The accident occurred in the area when the husband and wife with their children were going to Bogura from Naogaon riding a motorcycle. On the way, another speeding motorcycle coming from the opposite direction lost control and hit them and they fell on the road. Then a pickup van, coming from the behind, ran over them around 10:30am, leaving them dead on the spot and their five-year-old son and another motorcyclist injured, officer-in-charge (OC) of Naogaon Sadar Model Police Station Jahidul Haque said. The injured were rescued and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, he said. Police and fire service personnel recovered the bodies from the spot. Police seized both the motorcycles from the spot.
