Dhaka: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today asserted that the country’s crisis is far from over, citing the false cases filed against 60 lakh BNP leaders and activists that remain unresolved. “It is true that we are living in a period that appears to be more peaceful, but the reality is that nearly six million BNP leaders and activists remain entangled in false and fabricated cases filed during the fascist rule of Sheikh Hasina. We cannot say the crisis is over,” he stated.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi made these remarks while addressing a programme organized by ‘Amra BNP Paribar’ at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan. He expressed concerns over the resurgence of authoritarian tendencies, describing the current political climate as both unfortunate and dangerous. Rizvi also raised questions regarding the lack of action against former Chief Election Commissioner Rakibul Huda for his alleged role in undermining free and fair elections in Bangladesh.
The event was attended by other prominent BNP figures, including Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee, Treasurer M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, Gazipur District BNP Convener Fazlul Haque Milon, and advisors to ‘Amra BNP Paribar’ such as Engineer Mostafa-e-Zaman Selim, Abul Kashem, and Alomgir Kabir. The programme was chaired by Mokhsedul Momin Mithun, Member Secretary of ‘Amra BNP Paribar’.
