Countrymen reject those who called for boycotting polls: Arafat

DHAKA, State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Mohammad Ali Arafat today said the countrymen have rejected those persons, who called the people to boycott elections, through exercising their franchise in the polls. A befitting reply has been given to the conspirators both at home and abroad through the election, he told a mass reception organised by Jubo League ward-18 unit on Kalachandpur Government High School and College ground in the capital. Arafat said the nation is progressing indomitably and peace has been prevailing across the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. He urged all to remain alert against those who destroy peace through hurling petrol bombs and killing people alive. The state minister said everyone should remain united to strengthen the hand of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to resist the arson terrorists. Arafat extended thanks to the people including voters of his constituency to elect him as a lawmaker. Freedom Fighter Md Wakil Uddin, MP, addressed the programme as special guest with Jubo League Dhaka city North unit acting president Md Jakir Hossain Babul in the chair.
