Country will prosper thru federalism, President Deuba says

Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that all should unite for the nation’s development by institutionalizing federalism.

Inaugurating the BP Memorial Building in Okhaldhunga on Tuesday, the NC President said that country’s prosperity is likely through federalism.

He argued that development has been spread to the country’s remote areas after the implementation of federalism and argued that there is no alternative to republic and federalism. “It is not appropriate to seek its alternative right now. This system will bring about changes in the people’s lives,” he added.

Deuba also urged not to dream of changes in the current system.

On the occasion, NC leader Shekhar Koirala said that the government should bring concrete programmes to create employment by developing agriculture sector. Creating self-employment to the youth and ending unemployment is need of the time.

Likewise, NC general secretary Gagan Thapa said preparing for the next election at this time is a wrong idea.
