Naogaon: National Citizen Party (NCP) convener Nahid Islam today emphasized the necessity of rebuilding the country based on justice, reform, and a new constitution. “Justice, reform and the constitution are our main demands. The country must be rebuilt through these principles,” he declared during a brief rally held in Naogaon this evening.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ‘July Padayatra’ campaign, a nationwide initiative by the NCP, arrived in Naogaon district today. Party leaders and activists organized a procession through the district town, culminating in a rally where Nahid Islam addressed supporters and locals.
Reflecting on the nation’s history, Nahid Islam stated, “We achieved independence in 1971, but that independence has since been lost and we have not been able to enjoy its true benefits. We will not allow the independence of 2024 to be lost in the same way.” He elaborated on the origins of the party, explaining that the political landscape necessitated the formation of a new political entity. “We were compelled by the demands of the time to form a political party. The youth of Bangladesh, born out of the mass uprising, has emerged as an alternative leadership force.”
In his concluding remarks, Nahid Islam reaffirmed the party’s dedication to safeguarding national independence, asserting that only through such efforts can the sacrifices of the martyrs of the uprising be honored with full dignity.
