The Whip of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Iqbalur Rahim
today said the country has been witnessing massive development in the last 14
years during the tenure of Awami League (AL) government, as the countrymen
cast their votes to boat repeatedly.
“After assuming office, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government has made
unprecedented development in communication sector. During the BNP-Jamaat
regime, the communication sector was very much fragile,” he told the
inaugural ceremony of several development works in Dinajpur municipality.
The country had achieved tremendous economic progress following development
of communication systems under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina, said Iqbalur
Rahim, a former general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League.
Noting that Sheikh Hasina made the country a role model of development, the
Whip said she always thinks about taking the country forward and works for
changing the fortune of common people.
About 70 thousand families in Dinajpur got free rice before the Eid-ul-Azha,
he said the government is providing allowances in 135 categories including
old-age allowance, widow allowance and maternity allowance under the social
safety net.
He said every road has been developed in Dinajpur Sadar upazila during the AL
government tenure.
Electricity has been reached every house while no road remained in
dilapidated condition. When BNP-Jamaat was in power, condition of roads and
highways was so bad that it was not possible to move on the streets, he
mentioned.
Iqbalur Rahim also said that Sheikh Hasina has to be made Prime Minister
again by voting AL’s electoral symbol “boat” to continue the country’s
ongoing development trend.
