Dhaka: Coordination committees have been formed in all city corporations to ensure the smooth execution of the upcoming Typhoid Vaccination Campaign-2025. Each 10-member committee will be chaired by the city mayor or administrator, with the chief health officer serving as member secretary. These committees are tasked with overseeing various aspects of the campaign, including awareness drives, logistics management, supervision of vaccination centers, and engagement with local communities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the campaign is scheduled to commence on October 12 and will run for 18 days, with a target to vaccinate approximately five crore children. The initiative focuses on school-going children under the age of 15, who will receive the vaccine at their educational institutions. Meanwhile, out-of-school children aged 9 months to under 15 years will be vaccinated at designated EPI centers nationwide.

Health authorities anticipate that the campaign will lead to a substantial reduction in typhoid-related illnesses and child mortality, while also bolstering the country's overall immunization coverage.
