Tributes and condolences continue to pour in for Ferdous Ara, sister of Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, who passed away while undergoing treatment at a city hospital at the age of 70 today.
Immediately after her demise, people from all walks of life as well as different political parties and leaders expressed their shock and sent condolences.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ferdous Ara.
In a message of condolence, the premier prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
In separate condolence messages, a number of cabinet members also expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Ferdous Ara.
Information and Broadcasting Minister and Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud, Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin, State Minister for Cultural Affairs KM Khalid and State Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs Fazilatun Nessa Indira expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Quader’s sister.
