Mirpur:The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has established a three-member committee to investigate the lift accident at Paikpara Government Quarters that occurred on Friday. The ministry expressed regret over the incident.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the committee will be led by the Ministry's Joint Secretary, Abul Baker Md Touhid, who has been appointed as the convener. The other members include Professor Dr. Mahbub Alam from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at BUET and Abdullah Al Mamun, an Executive Engineer from the Public Works Department.
The committee's mandate includes determining whether proper rules and procedures were adhered to in the lift's maintenance and management. Additionally, it will investigate the causes of the accident and identify those responsible. The committee has been instructed to submit its findings to the ministry's secretary within seven working days.
