Rajshahi: The final round of the college and university level debate competition ‘Amrai Sera’ was held here today. The Rajshahi station of Bangladesh Betar organized the competition, which was titled “Media Plays a Vital Role to Establish Modern Democracy and Good Governance,” at the conference hall of the city bhaban.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Bangladesh Army University of Engineering and Technology (BAUET) and Rajshahi University (RU) were the two teams that competed in the final round. BAUET supported the proposition, while RU was its counterpart. Ultimately, BAUET clinched the championship, leaving RU as the runner-up. Shifat Hossain from RU was recognized as the best debater of the event.
The competition was graced by the presence of Dr. Dewan Muhammad Humayun Kabir, Commissioner of Rajshahi division, who served as the chief guest and judge. The event also saw speeches from BAUET Vice-Chancellor Brigadier General Muhammad Mijanuzzaman, Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar Hassan Akhter
, and RU Students Adviser Dr. Amirul Islam. Monirul Hassan, Deputy Regional Director of Bangladesh Betar, moderated the debate.
Crests and certificates were handed over to the champion and runner-up teams by the distinguished guests. The competition featured a total of 16 teams from various colleges and universities, showcasing their debating prowess.
