BGB Seizes Indian Smuggled Goods at Feni Border Area.

Feni: The members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized Indian smuggled goods worth over Taka 1.16 crore at Feni border areas today. The operation resulted in the confiscation of various goods suspected to have been smuggled from India, marking a significant success for the BGB’s efforts in curbing illegal trade across the border.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BGB personnel seized 1,026 pieces of Indian sarees, 380 pieces of bedsheets, 1,200 pieces of spectacles, 300 pieces of Angiogram KD wire, 400 units of beauty cream, 65 pieces of Gillette Guard, 20 pieces of blankets, and different kinds of Indian jordas. The operation was conducted by the Feni Battalion (4), led by Commander Lt Col Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, who provided the details of the seizure in a release this evening.

The estimated value of the seized goods is over Taka one crore, 16 lakh, 25 thousand, and 805. The BGB’s effective action to intercept these goods highlights the ongoing challenges and efforts in managing cross-b
order smuggling. The process of depositing the seized goods at the local customs office is currently underway, ensuring that proper legal procedures are followed.
