Rangpur: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a kidnapped female college student and arrested the main suspect, Md Rizvi, 24, from a residential hotel in the Paira Chattar area of Rangpur city on Monday. Rizvi, the son of the late Sohrab Ali of Chhoto Hajipur village in Badarganj upazila, allegedly abducted the student on July 2 from Zamubari Ustapara area with the help of accomplices.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the victim’s father filed a case with Badarganj police station on July 5. Acting on this information, RAB-13 conducted a raid in the Shapla Chattar area, which led to the arrest of Rizvi.
Both the arrestee and the victim have been handed over to Badarganj police for further action.
