Halishahar: Bangladesh Coast Guard has thwarted an attempt to smuggle out fertilizers to Myanmar and arrested three suspected smugglers, seizing 11 tonnes of the plant food from their possession.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Coast Guard spokesman Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujan informed reporters that their troops intercepted the operation when the fertilizers were being loaded onto a fishing boat from a truck in the Dabirkhal area of Halishahar. The interception was made possible due to a tip-off from a source.

The arrested individuals have been handed over to the police for subsequent legal actions, ensuring that the law will take its due course in addressing this smuggling attempt.
