Coast Guard Hosts Free Medical Camp in Bagerhat for Disadvantaged Communities

Bagerhat: The Bangladesh Coast Guard organized a free medical camp, dubbed the ‘Youth Festival,’ in Sarankhola upazila to provide medical consultation to disadvantaged individuals residing in coastal and riverside regions.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Coast Guard’s media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque shared details on Thursday afternoon, highlighting that the initiative is part of the Coast Guard’s ongoing humanitarian efforts. The organization routinely offers free medical services to distressed and low-income communities.



The Coast Guard West Zone held the day-long medical camp on Thursday, operating from 10 am to 3 pm in the Solambaria area and its nearby locations within Sarankhola Thana. Over 200 individuals, including children, received free medical consultations and essential medicines.



The event also featured awareness programs focusing on patriotism, disaster preparedness, and fire safety. These sessions included discussions and practical training on various health topics. Participants included members of the River Police, Department of Fisheries, Forest Department, local teachers, students, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
