Natore: A waste management and cleanliness drive has been started at Natore Stadium from today with the theme of "Come change the country, change the world". On the occasion, the district administration brought out a colourful procession led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Asma Shaheen which ended at the stadium after parading different roads and streets of the town.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the DC emphasized the importance of environmental protection by avoiding the use of polythene and plastic. She expressed a desire to motivate everyone, including students, to think well and follow hygiene rules.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Rawshan Ali announced the formation of a 30-member Zero Waste Brigade in the district with the help of scouts to ensure the continuation of cleanliness activities.
Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Md. Shamim Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Arif Hossain, Assistant Director of the Department of Environment Rafiqul Islam, and Scout members were present at the programme, among others.
