Chuadanga: The Chuadanga district unit of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal has initiated a comprehensive awareness campaign throughout Alamdanga upazila aimed at steering students clear of drugs and educating parents about the perils of child marriage.
According to United News of Bangladesh, over the past week, around 20,000 greeting cards were distributed to parents through their children at 56 secondary schools, six colleges, and five madrasas, part of the campaign covering 67 educational institutions in the upazila. Chuadanga District Chhatra Dal General Secretary Momin Malita emphasized the organization's commitment to continuing these awareness programs, in collaboration with the administration and other societal stakeholders, to combat significant social issues.
"Parents should play a more conscious and responsible role in building a society free from drugs and child marriage," Malita stated. The campaign was formally launched at Munshiganj Academy Secondary School in Alamdanga, attended by Momin Malita, Acting Headmaster Md Anwarul Islam, and several other key figures.
Leaders and activists from various levels of the Chhatra Dal, including district, upazila, municipal, college, and union units, were organized into groups to visit educational institutions across the upazila and distribute the greeting cards to parents. The campaign received support from Alamdanga Upazila Chhatra Dal Convener Zahid Hasan Shuvo, Member Secretary Al Imran Russell, Alamdanga Municipality Chhatra Dal Convener Atiq Hasnat Rinku, Member Secretary Mahmudul Haque Tanmoy, Nigar Siddique Degree College Chhatra Dal Organising Secretary Rajibul Haque, Alamdanga Government College Chhatra Dal Joint Secretary Kajal Rahman, assistant teacher Machidul Islam, and various teachers from different educational institutions.
