Dhaka: The chiefs of the Army, Navy, and Air Force have convened for a crucial meeting with the Election Commission (EC), led by Chief Election Commissioner A M M Nasir Uddin, in preparation for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and referendum.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting commenced at 12:00 noon at the Election Building located in the capital’s Agargaon. This information was confirmed by EC Secretariat Director (Public Relations and Information) Md Ruhul Amin Mallik. The meeting saw the participation of Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan.
Upon their arrival at the Election Building, the three service chiefs were received individually by Senior Secretary of the EC Secretariat Akhtar Ahmed. The meeting also included the presence of four Election Commissioners and senior officials from the EC Secretariat.
In parallel, a separate EC meeting is scheduled to review the overall law and order situation at 2:30 pm in the conference room of the Election Commission Secretariat in Agargaon. Md Ruhul Amin Mallik indicated that a briefing for the media will follow the conclusion of these meetings.
