Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus Visits Chattogram on Official Tour

Chattogram: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus arrived in his hometown Chattogram this morning, marking his first visit since assuming office as the head of the interim government. A flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Chief Adviser and his entourage landed at Shah Amanat International Airport at approximately 9:22 am.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during his daylong visit, Professor Yunus will engage in several significant activities. He will start by visiting the Chittagong Port, where he is scheduled to participate in a meeting on the NCT-5 premises. Here, he will exchange views with senior officials from the port and shipping sector, as well as representatives from various port users’ organizations and trade body leaders.



Following his port visit, Professor Yunus will proceed to the Chattogram Circuit House to unveil the foundation stone of the Kalurghat Bridge over the Karnaphuli River. This bridge is a much-anticipated development for residents on the southern bank of the Karnaphuli River in Boalkhali and Patiya upazilas of Chattogram. During his visit, officials will brief the Chief Adviser on pressing local issues, including the waterlogging problems in Chattogram City and traffic congestion on the Hathazari road from the city’s Oxygen Intersection.



Additionally, the Chief Adviser will formalize the transfer of land deeds to the Chattogram National Heart Foundation authorities. As part of his commitments, Professor Yunus will also attend the fifth convocation of Chittagong University as the chief guest. His itinerary includes a visit to his ancestral home in Bathua village under Shikarpur Union of Hathazari Upazila.
