‘There is no alternative to sports to keep the young generation away from teenage gangs, drugs, and terrorism,’ the mayor emphasized. He further mentioned that efforts are underway to set up fields, parks, walkways, and floodlights in different areas to ensure a healthy environment in the port city.
Hossain urged students to play their role in building a clean, green, and healthy city and to develop awareness against acts like improperly disposing of plastic products, polythene bags, or garbage. The event also featured speeches by Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Chief Education Officer Dr. Kissinger Chakma, Chattogram Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board Inspector Professor Dr. Mohammad Sarwar Alam, CCC Education Officer Nazma Binte Amin, former councilor Niaz Mohammad Khan, and women activist Fatema Badsha.
