Chair Jha emphasizes cooperation for holistic progress

Kathmandu: Executive Chairperson of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), Dharmendra Jha, said the RSS management was sincerely working for rights, welfare and professional development of RSS staffs in order to ensure quality enhancement of RSS service. He expressed management’s readiness to cooperate and collaborate for the same.

During a meeting with employees on Sunday, Executive Chairperson Jha believed that the RSS management would also receive support from the staffs in achieving frugality and good-governance, and improving news contents.

Although the budget for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology for the upcoming fiscal year 2024/25 had decreased, Jha expressed his happiness that there was an increase in the budget allocated to the RSS for the upcoming fiscal year.

He viewed that there should not be any delay in implementing RSS management’s plans such as launching news services round-the-clock and provide news in other national languages.

It may be noted that the only the State
news agency in the country has been providing news services in the Awadhi language besides in the Nepali and English languages at present.

The Executive Chairperson further said that a tender was called to lease out RSS land and building in Kakadvitta of Jhapa district. “Based on the preliminary assessment, there is a possibility of getting significantly higher rent. We are mulling to lease out the RSS buildings in Birgunj and Kathmandu through the tender process,” he informed.

He shared that the income fetched from rent will be kept in the employee gratuity fund. “I am always concerned about the overall welfare of the staffers. I urge everyone to collaborate to addressing the issues,” the Executive Chairperson reiterated.

Similarly, General Manager, Sidda Raj Rai, reaffirmed his commitment to work in the best interest of the RSS and its employees. According to him, the RSS management is actively delivering on the operation of the integrated software, electronic attendance, frugality and welfare of the sta
ffers.

On the occasion, Deputy General Managers Raju Shakya, Shyam Prasad Rimal and Somnath Lamichhane briefed the meeting about activities of their respective departments and univocally emphasized dissemination of quality news in a speedy manner.

Likewise, RSS Employees Association’s Chairperson Pabitra Guragain, RSS Employees Union’s Chairperson Kalika Khadka and Nepal National Employees Organization’s RSS chapter’s secretary Ashok Ghimire among others drew the attention of the RSS management towards the professional development of the staffers.

The RSS management has been organizing employees meet every three months to review the performance and to make its delivery transparent and accountable.
