Dhaka: State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin today announced that the government has developed a policy aimed at nationalizing century-old educational institutions in phases to promote quality and inclusive education. She made these remarks during a view-exchange meeting with teachers, students, guardians, and party activists at Mohorkoya Degree Pass and Honours College. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farzana emphasized that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, is undertaking various initiatives to enhance the quality of education. She highlighted that improving educational infrastructure is not enough to define development, stressing the importance of considering the mental well-being of both teachers and students. Farzana urged educators to take on a more responsible role by providing additional lessons to students who struggle with certain subjects. She noted that the government aspires for students to experience a comprehensive education in a joyf ul classroom setting. This approach, she suggested, would reduce the reliance on private tutoring and foster students' creativity and engagement in sports, arts, literature, and culture. The state minister further stated the government's commitment to ensuring development that is free from discrimination and called for public support to achieve these educational goals. The meeting was presided over by Mohorkoya Degree Pass and Honours College Principal Dr. Md Ismat Hossain.
