Chattogram: The Central City Hospital and Diagnostic Centre, located at the Probortok intersection near OR Nizam Road in Chattogram city, has been shut down today following its failure to meet the terms and conditions set by the respective authority.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Jahangir Alam, the Civil Surgeon of Chattogram and member secretary of the committee responsible for inspecting non-government hospitals, clinics, pathological laboratories, and blood transfusion centres in the district, instructed the hospital’s management to cease all activities. This directive was issued in a letter to the hospital’s Managing Director, Dr. Md Rezaul Karim, emphasizing the closure was necessary for public interests.

The committee had previously allowed the hospital to operate under certain conditions outlined in three separate memorandums. However, the hospital management failed to provide the required documentation to the committee and did not renew the hospital’s license within the given timeframe, leading to the decision to shut down its operations.
