Rajshahi: Commissioner of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) Muhammad Abu Sufiyan has called for performing duties with professional competence and skills. He came up with the call while addressing a briefing parade of the newly joined constables at RMP Headquarters here today as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, welcoming the constables who joined RMP from different units of Bangladesh Police, Abu Sufiyan said discipline and honesty are the preconditions to perform duties as police members. The Commissioner emphasized the importance of ensuring services and security to the public, stating, “Our prime goal is to attain trust and confidence of the public in general through delivering legal services,” and for this, there is no way but to perform duties with humanity, sincerity, and professional skills.
Commissioner Sufiyan also highlighted the importance of following dress rules strictly and using social media with selective directions. He advised the police members to have clear ideas about what can be done and what can’t be done in their roles. “All of you should study the RMP laws and different other rules and regulations and enforce those at the time of performing duties,” he instructed.
Additional Commissioner Nazmul Hassan and Deputy Commissioner Khorshed Alam, among others, also spoke on the occasion.
