According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the unit members led by general secretary Golam Mostofa Mamun submitted the memorandum consisting of eight-point demands, which include stern action against those who are involved in price hike of essential goods. He emphasized that taking stern action against the unscrupulous businessmen can be the crucial means of controlling the hike of essential commodities. Mamun mentioned that the prevalence of dishonest and greedy businessmen is rising gradually, so there is no way but to take legal action against them for the welfare of the consumers in general. He highlighted that while the fascist and autocratic government has been toppled through the students-people mass upsurge, the corrupt businessmen and greedy mark et syndicate have not fallen, and they still remain in the markets. Due to the unscrupulous circle, various essential commodities, including potatoes, onions, and soybean oil, are going beyond the purchasing capacity of the commoners. Thus, he stressed the urgent need to take drastic action against them.
