CA to Hold Bilateral Talks with Japanese PM Tomorrow

Tokyo: Chief Adviser Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus is set to engage in bilateral discussions with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba tomorrow.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the foreign ministry’s itinerary outlines that this significant meeting will take place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tokyo in the morning.



Prof Yunus will also participate in a roundtable with Japanese investors and attend the “Bangladesh Business Seminar.” This event will provide him the opportunity to interact with global CEOs, members of the Social Business Circle, and young professionals from both Bangladesh and Japan. In an acknowledgment of his contributions to social innovation and global development, Soka University is scheduled to bestow an Honorary Doctorate Degree on Prof Yunus in the afternoon.



Further into the day, Prof Yunus will deliver an address to a distinguished audience at the university. The evening will see the Chief Adviser attending a community reception organized by the Bangladesh Embassy in Tokyo, where he will engage with members of the Bangladeshi diaspora. This will be followed by a dinner hosted in his honor by the Bangladesh Ambassador to Japan at Bangladesh House.



Prof Yunus is expected to conclude his visit and depart from Tokyo on the morning of May 31. He will travel on a Singapore Airlines flight via Singapore, with an anticipated arrival in Dhaka later that night. Prof Yunus commenced his official four-day visit to Japan on May 27.
