CA Chairs High-Level Review Meeting on Bangladesh’s LDC Graduation

Dhaka: A high-level review meeting on the country’s preparation to graduate from Least Developed Country (LDC) status to a developing country was held today with Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus in the chair. The meeting was conducted at the Chief Adviser’s Office (CAO) in Tejgaon, Dhaka, as confirmed by Chief Adviser’s Deputy Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting focused on assessing the current progress and strategies needed for Bangladesh to successfully transition from LDC status. The discussion included evaluations of economic indicators and development projects that are critical for this transition. The participants also reviewed potential challenges and opportunities that the graduation may present to the country.



Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus emphasized the significance of the transition for Bangladesh’s international standing and economic growth. The meeting underscored the importance of coordinated efforts among government bodies and stakeholders to ensure a smooth and sustainable graduation process.



This meeting is part of a series of strategic reviews and consultations aimed at preparing Bangladesh for its new designation on the global economic stage. The Chief Adviser stressed the need for continued commitment and action to meet the necessary criteria set by international organizations for transitioning out of the LDC category.
